Islamio Privacy Policy

1. Summary

Islamio is designed to work without creating a user account. The app stores much of its data locally on your device. We use access to location, notifications and in-app purchase status only to provide core app features.

2. Information We Process

• Location data: used to calculate prayer times, determine Qibla direction and search nearby mosques.
• Notification preferences: used to schedule prayer reminders you enable.
• App preferences: such as language, theme, selected city, prayer calculation method and premium status.
• User-created content: journal notes, dhikr progress and prayer tracking records are stored on device.
• Widget data: prayer times, city name and selected settings may be stored in a shared app container so the widget can update.
• Purchase status: premium entitlement is processed through Apple’s in-app purchase system.

3. How We Use Information

• To calculate and display prayer times.
• To provide Qibla direction and nearby mosque search.
• To send prayer notifications you choose to enable.
• To sync widget content with the app.
• To save your personal settings and in-app progress.
• To verify premium access purchased through Apple.

4. Data Storage

Islamio primarily stores app data locally on your device. This includes items such as journal entries, dhikr records, prayer tracking history, selected settings and widget cache data.

We do not require you to create an account to use the app.

5. Third-Party Services

• Apple Services: Apple may process in-app purchases, widget rendering and notification delivery.
• Prayer time provider: prayer time calculations may be requested from an external prayer time API based on your selected location and method.
• Map and location services: Apple location and map services may be used for Qibla, reverse geocoding and nearby mosque search.

6. Location Permissions

If you allow location access, Islamio uses your location to calculate prayer times and Qibla direction, and to help find nearby mosques. If you do not grant location access, you can still use the app by selecting a city manually.

7. Notifications

If you allow notifications, Islamio may schedule prayer reminders according to the settings you choose. You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in iPhone Settings.

8. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your app content for advertising profiles. Data may be shared only as needed with platform services and infrastructure providers that support app functionality.

9. Children’s Privacy

Islamio is not intended to collect personal information from children knowingly. If you believe inappropriate data has been provided, please contact us so we can review the issue.

10. Your Choices

• You can use manual city selection instead of GPS.
• You can disable notifications at any time.
• You can export or delete supported app data through the app’s settings where available.
• You can uninstall the app to remove locally stored app data from your device.

11. Advertising and AdMob Disclosures

Islamio may use Google AdMob to display ads within the app. Ad serving providers may process limited technical and usage information to improve ad delivery, measure performance and show more relevant content where permitted.

For personalized advertising, the app may request access to device identifiers such as the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) through Apple’s App Tracking Transparency framework. Permission for tracking can be accepted or denied by you, and can also be managed later from the app’s settings or your device settings.

Advertising providers may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their own policies to support ad delivery, frequency control, fraud prevention and personalization. If you are located in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom or Switzerland, you may have rights to request access to, correction of or deletion of personal data processed for advertising or analytics purposes, subject to applicable law.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date on this page.
